Fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon Jared J. Stefanko, DO, MS offers cutting-edge surgical options to treat back and neck conditions. Dr. Stefanko specializes in advanced surgical procedures and minimally invasive operative procedures of the spine. He joined the team at Spectrum Orthopaedics in September 2013, where he has excelled at achieving optimum patient outcomes in difficult spinal conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

Dr. Stefanko graduated with a bachelor of arts from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He then attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his master of science in medical education, followed by his medical degree. Dr. Stefanko completed an internship and residency at Millcreek Community Hospital before completing an orthopaedic spine fellowship at West Virginia University’s Ruby Memorial Hospital.

During his extensive medical training, Dr. Stefanko completed rotations in general orthopedics and sports medicine as well as specialized training in trauma, total joint reconstruction, foot and ankle, and spine conditions. His spine fellowship allowed him to closely study trauma, degenerative conditions, and adult deformity, with some exposure to pediatric spine cases.

Dr. Stefanko has coauthored a paper published in May of 2016 in the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine, and a chapter publication on cervical trauma, Surgical Treatment of Orthopaedic Trauma: A comprehensive Text and Video Guide. He has been the recipient of awards from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO) for his research on subtrochanteric femur fracture, and his research and presentation on vertebroplasty vs. kyphoplasty. Dr Stefanko is the official team doctor for Massillon Washington High school.
